What is Dry Needling?

Dry Needling is a powerful, evidence-based technique used to release tight muscle bands (trigger points) that contribute to pain and dysfunction. It involves inserting thin, sterile needles directly into knots in the muscle to disrupt chronic tension and jumpstart the healing response. It’s especially effective for stubborn, recurring issues that haven’t responded to other treatments.

Benefits

  • Rapid reduction in deep muscle tension

  • Restores normal movement patterns

  • Decreases pain from old or new injuries

  • Enhances recovery and performance

What to Expect

After we locate trigger points, ultra-thin needles are inserted into the affected muscle tissue. A quick “twitch” response often occurs as the muscle releases. Treatment is usually brief and can be combined with corrective exercises or manual therapy for greater impact. Most patients experience soreness for a day or two, followed by a noticeable decrease in pain and tension.

For example, a runner with chronic IT band pain and tight hip flexors might feel temporary relief from stretching, but pain returns quickly. Dry needling directly releases the overactive muscles, restoring balance to the kinetic chain and allowing pain-free movement.

How it Helps

Ideal for sports injuries, postural pain, nerve entrapments, or chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Dry needling gets to the root of the issue—those hard-to-reach knots and adhesions that limit healing and movement.
